Cross for LifeFlight

This August, I'm taking part in the Cross for LifeFlight, a month-long challenge to raise awareness and critical funds for LifeFlight of Maine—the organization that helped my brother when he was critically injured in an accident.

In 2020, my brother, Matt, was flown 110 miles by LifeFlight. This year marks the fifth anniversary of his passing and my fifth year doing the Cross in his memory. For the past four years, I’ve biked 110 miles each week in August to honor that journey. This year, I’m continuing my ride—with new challenges to push myself, reflect, and remember.

 
🚨 Why LifeFlight?
LifeFlight of Maine is the state’s only emergency medical air service—a nonprofit that provides ICU-level care where and when it’s needed most. With just three helicopters, an airplane, and a few ground units, they’ve transported over 40,000 critically ill and injured patients across the state’s islands, rural towns, and remote wilderness.  Being a Paramedic in Maine for over 22 years I recognize how important LifeFlight is to our EMS system.

For many in Maine, LifeFlight is the only link to advanced medical care in time to save a life.

From August 1 to August 31, I’ll be biking in tribute to the 110-mile flight that gave my brother a fighting chance. Each mile is for him—and for the thousands of Mainers who will need LifeFlight this year.
