The Birkie is a year round experience of living a healthy lifestyle.  Being a part of the Birkie can happen in your backyard, neighborhood or in the fantastic North Woods on the Birkie Trail.  Each year the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation invests hundred’s of thousands of dollars in trail maintenance, grooming and infrastructure improvement along with programs to encourage and develop new skiers, bikers and general outdoor enthusiasts. Your support through one of the following programs, helps to support the Foundation and our mission of run, bike, ski and live a healthy outdoor lifestyle.

Mount Telemark Village Capital Campaign

The Mount Telemark Village Capital Campaign is now in its third phase.  The first two phases raised 4.5 million dollars from grants, individual contributions and the sale of land. The third phase of the Mt. Telemark Village dream is to build a close to 9,000 square foot community center that will be a gateway to outdoor activities!  We are seeking $2.5 million to build the new building with a goal of breaking ground in spring 2023! Please join us in making the dream of a revitalized Telemark a reality.  All contribution levels are welcome, and we continue to have symbolic shares or acres in the Conservancy available at $5,000 and $100 shares levels, as well as additional naming opportunities.

Birkie One - Creating Access to the Ski, Bike, Run Mission 
 
Silent sports such as cross country skiing, mountain/ fat biking and even running can be resource intensive and thus exclusionary for members of our community.  The idea of the Birkie One initiative is to support access to skiing, biking and running for members of our community who might not otherwise have access.  Beginning first with youth programming, the Birkie One initiative is all about creating opportunities for access to the activities for those who otherwise would be excluded.

Birkie Green

Donation made specifically to Birkie Green support our mission to reduce our carbon footprint.  Here are our five areas of focus that support our mission: Limit our use of unrecycled material for retail and for race swag, Increase our reliance on renewable energy, Reduce or offset our harmful carbon production, Continue to reduce waste and choose positive environmental alternatives,. Build sustainable structures going forward.

General Fund 

Donations to the general fund provide financial support to the American Birkebeiner Foundation operations.  Operations include trail maintenance, grooming, equipment upkeep, facilities upkeep, and supporting the staff of the not for profit organization that organizing all of the Birkie activities throughout each year.  Improvement such as bridge crossings, new buildings and new trail development are all supported by general fund donations each year.
