Donation Supporting Andrea Mayeux

I am excited and honored to be running New York City Marathon on behalf of the Brave Like Gabe Foundation and to raise money for rare cancer research.

All of the women in my family have battled cancer… endometrial cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, esophageal cancer. The disease has also impacted my step-dad and uncles. Because of research, improvements in screening and treatments have increased the chances of survival. But that’s not the case for all cancer patients.

I learned about Gabe’s battle with a rare cancer through my running coach. I followed her journey as she trained between treatments. I would spot her on the roads and trails around Minneapolis and was always a little too nervous to say ‘hi.” But seeing her running brought so much inspiration.

For more on her story, check out this documentary.

After her passing, we saw how many people she inspired. From high school cross country athletes in her hometown of Perham, Minnesota to the world’s best marathoners and pro teammates, many now continue her legacy to “run on hope.”

My fundraising goal for this event is $3,000. If you can donate, thank you for helping support rare cancer research and the Brave Like Gabe Foundation!

We’re sorry!
