Note to self: I know you're struggling. I know you don't really know if you want to do this. I know your emotions are overwhelmed. But maybe you forgot (it's okay), this has never been about you. It's about hope.
For me, my connection to Brave Like Gabe has never been about rare cancer (personally), it's been about hope. Hope is a powerful, powerful thing. It has helped me climb out of multiple major depressive episodes.
The loss of Abby this summer hit me like a ton of bricks, as I have been overcome by a fear that Gabe's message and legacy won't carry on the same without her, and I can not not ever fully explain just how powerful hope is. So please help me help such an amazing and important organization.
My goal in NYC is to run for everyone who can't. There are too many people who have had opportunities taken away from them due to medical issues and tragedy. Life is not always fair. So as I line up for my second NYC Marathon on November 7th, please help me spread hope and dedicate all 26.2 miles to those who would give anything to be out there. Any donation helps support Brave Like Gabe and rare cancer research, and spread a message of hope. Equally important, please let me know who you'd like me to run for so I can make sure I take these people with me through the streets of NYC.
Please world, do not lose hope. Spread it like wildfire.
Thank you, Jillian
