City Island Rowing

Hi, my name is Casey Creutz and I have been a coxswain at City Island Rowing for almost four years, and the team and community means so much to me! This team teaches girls a lot about life and gives us an opportunity to fall in love with this amazing sport. Rowing to me is a lot more than a sport, it teaches discipline, pride, responsibility and creates a bond between people in the boat that can't be replicated anywhere else. Our team is all girls, and smaller than other teams, and we rely on the Ergathon to provide equipment for the rowers. Every year CIR has an Ergathon to raise money for the hardworking young women on our team. Athletes themselves raise the funds among family and friends, and at the end of our winter season, erg, streamed live for all of our supporters. This year we want to meet and exceed our fundraising goals to support our largest team ever. Any donations make a difference and are extremely valued by every young rower at CIR. Thank you!
