Hope comes in many forms, but for many families it starts with the moment they connect with the Homocystinuria (HCU) community and with HCU Network America. Here they find support, education, and hope for a better a better future.

When Garrett and I were diagnosed in 1995, there was very little hope. Based upon the data at the time, Garrett and I were told that our expected life span was 30 and I would never be able to have kids. There was no patient organizations, there were no internet groups - there was no way to connect. With the arrival of the internet, a community slowly started to sprout, and seeds of hope were planted. From that community came a meeting in 2011, where Garrett and I first met not just one, but multiple other patients - hope was finally being seen, with a solid foundation in community. In 2016, HCU Network America, the first patient organization for the Homocystinurias in the US was formed - finally developing a place for support, education, and hope - our community began to blossom and hope was evident.

Now we ask you - will you give hope generously this Giving Tuesday?

All donations will support our educational programing, which includes educational programs and toolkits, online events, our in person conference and much more.

All donations through  December 31, 2021 will be matched by an anonymous donor up to $25,000!
