The Food Bank's capital campaign is helping us establish a permanent home in Seattle with expanded services to a surging number of clients in need. Now, over 6,100 families in our community rely on the Food Bank each month, up from 3,000 just 12 short months ago pre-pandemic.

The work being done at the Ballard Food Bank is compassionate, hopeful, and uplifting for so many in our community who face challenging times due to food insecurity, increasing cost of living or changes in employment. We provide access to nutritious food through our food bank, home delivery, and a growing Weekend Food for Kids program. Our new home will also host the Community Resource Hub, where partner organizations offer a range of services like housing assistance, mental health services, medical care, mail services, job training and veterans’ benefits – all under one roof. And, especially critical these days, our financial assistance program helps prevent homelessness through eviction prevention.

As you know, I have served on the Board of the Food Bank for 8 years and have seen first-hand the life-changing impact this organization is having. Many of you have responded in the past when we've asked for your support. Today the need is increasing for seniors, children, veterans and so many more in our community. With your continued help, the Ballard Food Bank will be ready to meet these needs.

Thank you for giving what you can. Your support means so much to us personally, and to all of our neighbors who rely on the Ballard Food Bank.

With peace, love and gratitude.
