The Violet Project

In Maryland, 1 in 4 teens miss school due to their periods and 1 in 5 teens struggle to purchase period products. The Violet website has a free online store for young people with financial need; through donations, we will work to eliminate period poverty affecting Baltimore City youth and adolescents by providing access to necessary menstrual hygiene products on our website. This includes pads, tampons, period underwear, pantyliners and menstrual cups. These menstrual hygiene products are shipped discreetly, to mitigate financial barriers youth face in accessing these essential products. 

Adolescence is a critical period in which adverse reproductive health outcomes can have long-lasting effects, so we hope to remove as many barriers as possible from these youth so that they may access care.
