Van Andel Institute

I would like to support the hockey community and help raise money for cancer research at Van Andel Institute in memory of my mom.

Marlene Moore was a wonderful wife, mother and a grandma.  She lived for her three girls but was the best grandma to her five grandsons.  She was the kind of grandma that didn’t mind if her grandchildren dropped egg shells in the batter while they were helping her.  She played with them in the rain.  In her eyes, they were the best grandchildren in the world.  Her best gift to them was her time.  Each summer, she would invite each grandson to spend time with just her and grandpa.  She was the kind of grandma that attended all their school events, band concerts and sporting events.  When she was not with her grandchildren, her hands were busy making things for them.  She spent hours making Christmas ornaments and stockings, quilts and their favorite treats.

We lost my mom after a 19 month battle with Stage 4 cancer of unknown origin at the age of 67. We miss her terribly but she lives on through her 3 girls.  Thank you for setting such a great example, Mom. 

It is too late for my mom, but it is not too late for someone else’s mom, or sister, cousin, uncle, grandpa, …..  Thank you so much for your donation and for helping Van Andel to provide hope to so many people.
