Having a close friend that benefits from our local Veteran assistance programs and seeing its impact first hand is why I chose to accept this nomination and continue to be involved in organizations focused on the mental health of our soldiers. I believe that as a community we need to be aware that Veteran health is important in all aspects. These local Veterans are our family members and for me, my friend.
