Westview High School Safe and Sober Grad Night

We’ve all heard the buzz words that are describing 2020.  New normal, our present pandemic environment, VOE-virtual office environment and virtual learning are only few.  While these are words that will describe 2020 we should not let it define our childrens’ senior year at Westview.

The Senior Graduation committee is moving ahead with plans for a Graduation Celebration.  That could mean an all night celebration for the seniors or it could mean a special keepsake that we gift to them if we can’t all be together.  We are planning with a positive attitude and a concern that we keep them safe.

Each year this committee raises funds throughout the year to help offset the costs to the students for this celebration.  This year will have the same financial needs but our ability to raise funds, like the rest of our lives, will need to evolve into something everyone can take part.  Dinners out, wine and beer tastings and other social gatherings will have a limit to the number of attendees so the benefit from these events will be limited as well.

We are asking each family to join our check writing campaign.  If each family with a senior will give $10 we will be able to raise ~$6000.  I’m guesstimating on the class count but you get the idea.  More is always welcome but this small give, we hope, is within reason for all families.

Please keep encouraging our seniors and help them to define what their final time at Westview will look like.
