Toxic air pollution from refineries, factories, coal plants, and other industries cause serious health effects for workers and nearby communities, especially people of color and lower-income families. Additionally, research shows that communities facing toxic air pollution are at higher risk of COVID-19 infection and mortality rates. As our state leaders work to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and our community’s call for racial justice, they must consider public health and clean air as a critical part of the solution. Urge your legislators to defend public health and safety with policies that reduce dangerous air pollution.
