Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I am excited to participate in the 38th Annual The Ben to the Shore, which supports the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation!
The Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation (FBBCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to improving the lives of children in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area. We achieve this by providing necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMTs); cultivating positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve; and providing mental and emotional wellbeing resources to first responders and their families.
Many years ago, I rode my very first Tour to the Shore as a Philadelphia police officer, assigned to the 25th District as a bike officer. Back then, the ride started from the Irish Pub—a memory I’ll always cherish.
Since then, my family has faced unimaginable tragedy. My grandchild’s dad, Officer Shane McHugh of the 6th District and a proud former Marine, died by suicide. In our darkest days, the Families Behind the Badge Foundation stepped in to help my daughter and our family, just as they have for so many others in need.
This year, I’m riding not just for the journey, but to give back to the organization that lifted us up when we needed it most. The Families Behind the Badge Foundation does incredible work supporting the families of fallen and injured first responders, and I want to help ensure they can continue their mission.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation—no amount is too small. Your support will make a real difference for families like mine.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support.
