Pedal the Cause

Well, I don't take sending a fundraising e-mail out lightly. In fact, I think it is my first in 62 years. I had a dear friend ask me to join him on a 100-mile cycling ride.  I said yes, and this time, instead of riding up Lookout Mountain or climbing the hill to Carter Lake as part of a century ride, I will spend these hundred miles cycling in the State of Missouri near St. Louis. Did I mention Missouri is very, very flat?  Lol . . . 

100 miles might get your attention, but not mine on this ride.  It's the cause that I am interested in.  This is a ride for cancer research. I have looked at cancer as an annoyance over the years. After all, when you remain someplace between 15 and 17 years old in your head, you're indestructible and any talk of fallibility is for others, not you. But my dad, my uncle (my dad's brother), my paternal grandfather, and others I love have waged the cancer battle.  I am certain you have your own list.  There will be many others… for all of us. The paragraphs below tell you a little bit more about the cause.  

I appreciate any thought you put towards my upcoming endeavor. The ride is in September.  I'll take $10 if you have it!
