2026 PTC bike ride marks the 16th year for Scott’s Team. Over the years our small but mighty team has raised almost $100,000 for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Scott’s Team was formed in 2011 to honor Scott Kleinman. First diagnosed with a rare brain tumor on Christmas Eve, 2010, Scott with the support of the doctors and staff at Siteman Cancer Center fought a long hard battle that included two surgeries, long months of radiation and chemo and a stem cell transplant. Sadly, at the age of 42, Scott lost his battle with brain cancer 12 years ago on February 13, 2014. Through it all he maintained such a positive attitude and was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Our 2026 team members come from all parts of Scott’s life. They include his father, Ed along with several close friends and co-workers from the CITS Dept. of Washington University Medical School, where he worked for 20 years, and in recent years, friends of Scott’s co-workers have also joined the team.
We are so grateful to our team for everything they have done over the years to help in the fight to cure cancer.
Even though Scott is not physically with us his vibrant spirit and love of life will definitely be present as the team rides in his honor on September 20th. Hopefully it will be a beautiful day for riding.
