Pedal the Cause

What started as a ride in 2010 has grown into a dynamic community mobilized for change, fueled by hope, and united in the commitment to curing cancer.

As the proud Team Captain of Team Clayco, I’m honored to share that over the past sixteen years, our coworkers have raised more than $724,000 for Pedal the Cause. Together, we’ve helped seed and speed groundbreaking cancer research.

Pedal the Cause is unique: 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to innovative adult and pediatric cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center (a Top 10 nationally ranked cancer care center) and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Even more, every $1 donated brings and additional $14 is obtained (on average) in outside funding—resulting in over half a billion dollars in leveraged funds.

This year, my ride is deeply personal. I am riding for my mentor and friend, Russ Burns, who we lost earlier this year. Russ was an extraordinary leader who inspired me and so many others, and I’ll carry his memory with me every mile.

I ride to honor Russ. I ride for families who are fighting today. And I ride because I believe in a future without cancer.
