Pedal the Cause

We are all victims of cancer. We all have a story. Whether it is your own diagnosis, your parent, your child, your friend, your co-worker. Cancer impacts so many people. I lost my mother to cancer, and the feeling of isolation hit me hardest when I was walking my mother out of a chemotherapy session, and seeing a friend's mother walking in. We don't know the fight others are in, and we can feel like there is no help around us. But that is exactly why I'm here. I'm here to raise awareness, I am here to help fight for a cure.

My mother would show me the gravel that was under the skin on her knee, and a gleam in her eye when she would tell me about the bicycle incident that put it there. I'm riding my bike because she can't, I'm riding my bike for those that can't, I'm riding my bike for those that will again, and I'm riding for those who haven't even yet learned to ride.
