I am lacing up my skates (for the first time!) for the LivFree 24 Hour Hockey Marathon! LivFree is a pediatric cancer nonprofit that provides Moments of Joy to kids and families to give them a break from struggle. Whether it is going to a game, a Broadway show, a concert, or even just a night out, LivFree is there for the whole family!
I made the decision last year while watching this event and seeing the passion and dedication of the players that I wanted to be a part of it. The only problem was, I hadn’t been on skates since I was a kid and had never played hockey.
So, over the past year, I’ve been learning the game and getting on the ice as much as I can. Going from essentially a non-skater to preparing for a 24-hour hockey marathon in just one year has definitely been a challenge, but one I’m excited to take on. I’m looking forward to pushing myself for 24 hours while raising money for LivFree, an organization that means a lot to our family. Thank you for your support, I hope to see you there to cheer on the event!!
