Mitch passed away from Leiomyosarcoma (LMS)which is a rare, aggressive cancer that begins in the smooth muscles of the body. Please come and support Mitch Kurtz and skate for a cure! Mitch passed away on July 17, 2025 come and skate on his Birthday which was August 1st.

Thanks to your efforts through our Raise Your Way campaign, SFA has invested over $27 million in sarcoma research, funding over 200 grants in 12 countries leading to close to 200 total publications, adding to the sarcoma research discourse.
