Help Me Go for #1 at the LivFree 24-Hour Hockey Marathon
I’m getting ready to take on my third LivFree 24-Hour Hockey Marathon, and this year means a little more to me than the ones before.
This will be my second time raising money for this incredible cause. The first time I fundraised, I finished in second place. That was an amazing accomplishment, but this year I have a new goal:
I want to finish #1.
I’m a kidney donor, and I’ve always tried to live my life by giving more than I’ve ever asked for. I believe that when you have the ability to help someone else, you should.
Last time, finishing second in fundraising earned me a spot in the Top Eight Golden Gloves recipients. But the award itself wasn't what made that moment so special.
The Golden Gloves were presented to me by a child with cancer who was an honored guest at the event.
That moment hit me right in the feels.
Receiving those gloves was honestly the highlight of my year. It was a reminder that this isn't really about hockey, fundraising, or trying to finish first. It's about the kids and families who are fighting battles that no one should have to face.
I feel incredibly blessed to be able to do what I do. But I also know that none of it comes without hard work, sacrifice, and a willingness to keep showing up.
So this year, I'm asking you to help me push even harder.
Help me get to #1.
Every donation, no matter the size, gets me one step closer to my goal and helps LivFree continue supporting children and families affected by cancer.
If you can donate, thank you. If you can share my fundraiser, thank you. And if you've supported me before, please know that I appreciate you more than I can put into words.
I'm going to leave it all on the ice for 24 hours.
Let's see if we can take that second-place finish and turn it into #1.
Thank you for believing in me, and more importantly, thank you for helping make a difference for these kids and their families.
Let's do this! 🏒💙
