The Mruk Family Center on Aging is seeking to purchase 15 to 20 recumbent bikes, with an estimated cost of $600 per bike, for their Wellness Education Center. Recumbent bikes are suitable for people of all fitness levels, including beginners, older adults, and individuals with mobility challenges.
These bikes will serve not only serve our elderly population but also individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease who participate in our Rock Steady Boxing program. Designed to be lower to the ground, recumbent bikes make it easier and safer for participants to mount and dismount. Their larger seat and backrest provide enhanced support compared to upright bikes, reducing strain on the back and shoulders. Recumbent bikes offer a unique combination of comfort, fitness benefits, and accessibility, making them an excellent choice for our programs.
