I am fundraising for Polly's Run. Please consider making a donation to my fundraising page and help me fight pancreatic cancer! 100% of the proceeds benefit the endowment for Polly's Run at UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Here's my story:
In November of 2019 my life turned upside down when I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I spent the next six months going through chemo, radiation and then the Whipple surgery. I was doing great with scans showing NED (no evidence of disease) until November 2023 when a routine scan showed lesions on the liver. The fight was back on! The original chemo wasn't effective and the steroids I was given to prevent nausea overwhelmed the pancreas and threw me into diabetic ketoacidosis. I spent 3 days 2 nights in the ICU and am now an insulin dependant diabetic. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my loving, caring husband (Scott Claunch) who took action and got me to the ER in time. Thank God for him!
The liver lesions on the latest scan are "barely perceptible". I am doing well and cherishing every day. Thank you for your support fighting pancreatic cancer!
