We look forward to seeing you Lake Murray Community Park in San Diego, CA at 9 a.m. on April 23, 2022 for our event! Why Blood, Sweat, & Dignity.?
Blood: Everyone who menstruates deserves to have a comfortable, clean, and healthy period regardless of their socioeconomic status and background. Let's create awareness and educate one another about period poverty.
Sweat: Run, walk, or just move at our community 5K event to raise funds for Fulfilling Destiny. If you can't make it, make a donation and then on your own bike, swim, HIIT, or chaturanga down for dignity too! Let's all sweat for the cause together.
Dignity.: Reducing stigma about periods is the first step to helping menstruators have their period with dignity. Bring donations of pads, tampons, liners, and travel size hygiene products to our event so that these can be distributed around San Diego.
Blood, Sweat, & Dignity is a community event to support Fulfilling Destiny, a local San Diego nonprofit organization that aims to distribute free menstrual products to those without homes, so that everyone can have their period with dignity. SDSU students in the School of Communication are putting on this event as part of a service learning course where they learn about community embedded health communication practices.
Sign up to run competitively, walk socially, or just attend. We've run out of t-shirts and are no longer taking competitive registrations, please feel free to sign-up for the free registration (Move for Dignity) and consider bringing a donation or pads, tampons, or liners to the event. Together, we can increase awareness about period poverty, fundraise for Fulfilling Destiny, and collect donations of menstrual products. We will use donations of unopened tampons, pads, and liners at the event to make dignity bags for distribution. If you can't join us on the day of the event, please consider donating to the cause and feel free to move for dignity wherever you are - join us virtually using the hashtag #movewithdignity on any social media platform! Tag @periodwithdignity on Instagram stories and posts too!
