In consideration of my participation in the High Cotton 5K / 1K Fun Run (the “Event”), I, the undersigned, acknowledge and understand that participation in a running or walking event involves inherent risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, physical exertion, collisions or contact with other participants, uneven or unpredictable terrain, and variable weather or environmental conditions.

I further acknowledge that animals—particularly dogs—may be present on the course, either as part of the Event through the authorized Pet Pass program or brought by spectators or others. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with the presence of animals, including but not limited to bites, scratches, allergic reactions, tripping, or other personal injury or property damage.

If I choose to bring a dog to the Event, I understand that I must first register with a Pet Pass and agree to:

·        Keep the dog leashed at all times using a secure leash no longer than six feet;

·        Maintain full control of the animal throughout the Event;

·        Ensure the dog is well-socialized, non-aggressive, in good health, and up-to-date on vaccinations;

·        Immediately remove the animal from the course if it becomes disruptive or poses a risk to others.

I accept full responsibility and liability for any injury, loss, or damage caused by my pet to other participants, animals, volunteers, spectators, or property.

I further acknowledge and agree that the Event organizers, sponsors, property owners, volunteers, and any affiliated individuals or entities (collectively, the “Released Parties”) bear no responsibility and shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the actions of any persons or animals present during the Event.

By signing this waiver, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns do hereby fully and forever release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Released Parties for any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action whatsoever arising out of or relating to my participation in the Event, including any incidents involving animals, and I further agree to indemnify and hold the related parties safe and harmless for same.
