For nearly a decade, Black Market has been more than a storefront—it has been a cultural anchor in Nubian Square. This 1,720-square-foot gallery serves as a vital platform for hundreds of Black artists and entrepreneurs, many of whom have been historically excluded from traditional retail spaces. As gentrification continues to reshape Roxbury, Black Market is now fighting for its Right to Remain. With their option to purchase the building nearing expiration, securing ownership is critical to preserving this important community space and preventing displacement.
Every dollar raised through this walk will go directly toward helping Black Market purchase, protect, and sustain their home for years to come.
