Impact of Addiction: Exploring Pathways to Recovery     Canceled

By

Shellie Bowman

Addiction is a disease that impacts all members of the family in some way.  Just as the addicted person may go to any length to use, the family may go to any length to take care of their loved one.  Anyone touched by addiction knows, all too well, the feelings of despair, frustration and hopelessness each relapse brings.  This well intended drive to take care of the addicted person may result in strained relationships, mental health concerns, financial hardship and neglect of self and others.   At this point it is clear, the family is “under the influence” of addiction.  As hopeless as this reality may feel...there is hope for the entire family.  In this session, Shellie will cover topics such as the importance of self-care when caring for others, the difference between “caring for” and “taking care of” others, effective intervention strategies and recovery resources available for the entire family.  You’ll leave with new ideas for a renewed sense of hope about navigating a pathway to recovery for you and your loved ones.
