Whitefish Legacy Partners has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Whitefish Trail Hootenanny. Originally scheduled for Friday August 20 in Depot Park, our favorite community event celebrates our local trails and open lands with live music, local beers, food trucks, and kids activities. With Covid-19 cases spiking across Montana and in the Flathead Valley in recent weeks, WLP has decided the risks to the community were too great.
If you have already purchased entry tickets or merchandise, we will contact you to discuss your options including a full refund OR transferring your purchases to a tax-deductible donation.
“As disappointed as we are to cancel this loved family event, with our hospitals reaching capacity and kids getting ready to go back to school, we felt it was necessary to stand with our local healthcare workers, families, educators, and already stressed service industry.” Mike Jopek, WLP Board Chair
“I commend WLP’s leadership to cancel the Whitefish Trail Hootenanny. With such a sharp increase in Covid-19 infections, their decision to cancel such a large gathering will help prevent further community spread and also support our frontline workers.” Mayor John Muhlfeld
As our largest annual fundraising event, cancelling will have a financial impact, with a full refund offered to all pre-sale tickets. In lieu of the event, those wishing to support WLP’s conservation, recreation, and education programs can purchase raffle tickets below for a chance to win airline tickets, a season ski pass, gift cards, and more, purchase event pint glasses, or donate directly to Whitefish Legacy Partners through the Great Fish Community Challenge.
You can still support the Whitefish Trail! Event sponsors, including Title Sponsor First Interstate Bank, are helping us sell custom pint glasses and host an online raffle.
