Sarcomas are complex and varied. They can begin in so many different parts of the body including bones and connective tissues such as, muscle, fat, nerves, and blood vessels. Since there are more than 70 different subtypes of sarcoma, many which are rare, research and clinical trials are often not started, fragmented and drastically underfunded, slowing progress toward better diagnostics and cures. 

As a result of this lack of reliable diagnostic tools, and low funding, many Sarcomas often go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Approximately 15-22% of cancers in children are sarcomas, and fundraising is absolutely critical to advance research, develop earlier and more accurate diagnostic methods, and create effective treatments for these brutal cancers.
