I’m riding in Lowvelo this year with a really full heart. This ride is for my friend and her family after the loss of her dad, Mark—someone we all loved dearly. He was larger than life in every sense: the kind of person who made people feel seen, who brought energy and humor everywhere he went, and who loved deeply. It’s been incredibly hard to watch my friend go through this, but also inspiring to see the way she continues to honor him with so much strength and purpose. Being part of this ride is my way of showing up for her and keeping his memory close.
Mark battled cancer for nearly two years and was cared for at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, a place that gave their family so much compassion and support. This ride is about carrying that forward. It’s about turning loss into something meaningful, supporting research that changes lives, and remembering someone who left a lasting impact on all of us. If you’re able to donate or even just share the page, it truly matters—every dollar goes directly to lifesaving cancer research, and every bit of support helps honor Mark in a way that feels worthy of who he was.
