On Saturday May 10, 2025, Deacon and Trixie will be running for their public elementary school in Philadelphia in the 3rd Annual Powel 5K & Family Fun Day! This year, all proceeds from the 5K will go to supporting the efforts of the Powel Home & School Association (HSA) to hire a Playworks coach for Academic Year 2025-2026. Playworks is an amazing organization that helps kids stay active and build incredibly valuable life skills through play. Having a Playworks coach will be an incredible asset for the Powel school community.
Running a 5K is exciting but still challenging for Deacon and Trixie to begin to think about, so your financial support will not only be a big boost for their beloved Philly Public school but will also help us motivate them to train over the next two months! Trixie has completed the race the last two years but Deacon has yet to. Let’s go Deacon and Trix!
The overall fundraising goal for the 5K & Family Fun Day is $27,000 for the Playworks coach for next year for Powel school - we've set a $1,000 goal for Deacon and Trixie's individual fundraising. Any support you can provide would be deeply meaningful for us as it supports a school that has meant the world to us these past 5 years.
We are so grateful for the hard working teachers, after school programs and the community our kids have enjoyed through the years at Powel and would love to help give back in this way.
