I’m so excited to rappel for the SECOND time in my life. The first was on a trip to Costa Rica, down the face of a rushing waterfall! (See photo) But this time I will be raising funds for DupagePads, an organization that provides a much needed boost to homeless people in our community. Through volunteering at the IHC (Interim Housing Center), I learned that they house seniors, adults, and even entire families, providing meals and recreation and a safe place to reside until permanent housing is found. There is SO MUCH going on behind the scenes to keep just this one facility running. They work hard every day to keep families together, and kids in their home schools, well fed and with toys at birthdays and Christmas. A playground was recently built on the site for the youngest kids, and there are plans to renovate the courtyard to allow for more outdoor dining and gathering. Adult clients are connected with the resources they need to secure a job and permanent housing, getting them off the streets and into a safe, warm room with a door that locks at night.
Your donation will support all of this and more!
