Hello friends and family,
I have made a big lofty goal for myself and have committed to run my first full marathon this year. I’ve also decided to support The American Red Cross of Northern New England by joining Team Red Cross while I am running all of these miles!
I started donating blood and platelets at the end of 2023 after hearing about a previous coworkers son who was suddenly diagnosed with a rare disease and needed blood products every single day to help him. I had never donated blood before out of fear of the unknown. Knowing that I was healthy and able to donate blood to help someone who had no choice in what was happening, I didn’t hesitate to make my first appointment. Since then I have made 10 blood donations and 9 platelet donations. I will continue to do this as long as I am able to.
