ALS changed my family forever.

My father was a strong, determined man- the kind of person who showed up for others, worked hard, and never asked for much. Watching ALS slowly take pieces of him was the hardest thing our family ever endured. A disease we barely knew suddenly became part of our everyday lives.

ALS didn’t only affect my father, it reshaped our entire family. Simple things like speaking clearly, walking across a room, or hugging the people he loved became daily challenges. His independence faded far too quickly, and the emotional toll was immense. Yet through it all, he faced ALS with courage, resilience, and grace that inspired everyone around him.

Team Gleason was a source of hope during a time when so much felt overwhelming. Their work helped ensure that families like ours did not have to face ALS alone. Through their support, technology, and resources, they helped people living with ALS maintain dignity, connection, and quality of life for as long as possible.

I support Team Gleason in honor of my father-his fight, his strength, and the legacy he left behind. ALS took him from us, but it did not take his spirit or the impact he had on those who loved him.

So for the second year in a row, as a family, we will run to honor him.
