More than 17,000 people will be diagnosed with sarcoma this year.  Sarcoma accounts for 1% of adult cancers and 15-20% of childhood cancers. My fiancée, Meghan Farrell, is unfortunately one of them. Meghan was diagnosed with an inoperable fibromyxoid sarcoma on the dura of her brain 10 years ago, and for the last decade she’s shown up every single day ready to fight. We’re so grateful that her most recent scans came back stable, and even more thankful that she’s feeling healthy and doing fantastic! 

All thanks to the support from so many incredible people, we’ve raised over $16,000 through three half marathons, the George Washington Bridge Challenge and a men’s league summer basketball team. Those funds have gone toward both the American Cancer Society and the Sarcoma Foundation of America to support research, advocacy, and families impacted by cancer. 

Now, I’m proud to run the Cape May Half Marathon on August 9th in honor of Meghan and everyone still fighting their own battle. If you’re able to donate, we would be deeply grateful. If not, I simply ask you to lead with kindness: listen actively, compliment a stranger, hold the door for someone, and share as many smiles as possible. You never know what someone may be going through.
