Pedal the Cause

Ten years ago, our lives were turned upside down.

My husband, Jason, was diagnosed with Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma. What followed was a battle that tested everything—his strength, our family, and what we believed we could endure. Through it all, Jason held onto a simple but powerful mantra: overcome the obstacle, and get back on your feet.

And he did.

This year feels like something bigger than just another ride—it’s a full circle moment. 

Jason is celebrating 10 years of remission, and for all of our family, this is a celebration that we don't take lightly, but that we do together. I’m riding 10 miles alongside my husband in honor of that journey, that fight, and that victory. Even more meaningful, two of our kids will be riding those 10 miles with us, while our youngest is taking on 30 miles (because he’s our family’s road warrior!).

Pedal the Cause has been part of our story since the beginning—since the days when hope felt fragile and the future uncertain. Today, it represents something entirely different: progress, possibility, and real impact. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to funding cancer research and patient care right here in St. Louis. In the 17 years since this event began, those dollars have helped fuel groundbreaking treatments and discoveries that are changing lives.

This year, our family has set a goal to raise $5,000. If you’re able to give, no matter the amount, you’re not just supporting a ride—you’re helping more families reach their own “full circle” moment. If you are able to join us at the ride, please do! I also want to recognize the incredible people who’ve helped build this community into what it is today—especially Jason’s brother, Zach Leeds, whose passion has made our Ludicrous Speed team so strong, and Mike Goldstein and Tim Ridderbos for helping take this team national. We ride stronger because of you.
