Pedal the Cause

Cancer has touched my life in a deeply personal way. In 2019 Kimber was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer. What followed was a difficult journey filled with surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and countless days and nights spent at Siteman Cancer Center.

During that time, Siteman became what appeared to be our new home. The doctors, nurses, and staff cared for us with compassion and gave us the opportunity to remain close to our family, friends, and support system while receiving world-class treatment. Their care made an unimaginably difficult situation a little more manageable.

Kimber passed away in May 2020 at the age of 25. While her time was far too short, her strength, faith, and determination continue to inspire me. One of the ways I choose to honor her memory is by supporting the people and organizations fighting cancer today.

That is why I ride and fundraise for Pedal the Cause. Every dollar raised stays in St. Louis and supports cancer research and patient care through Siteman and St. Louis Children's Hospital. My hope is that these efforts help create better outcomes for future patients and families facing the challenges we once did.
