This June, I will be participating in the 22nd Annual Sharon Timlin Memorial Event: A Race to Cure ALS. This event raises money for the Angel Fund for ALS Research. I’m running this race in memory of my dad, John Henry, who passed in January 2020 from ALS. Every year, on Giving Tuesday, I donate to the ALS Association in my dad’s memory but I wanted to do something bigger this year to mark 5 years since his passing. My hope is that someday soon we will see some promising treatment…or even better, a cure! Incredible update as of January 17: “New research is showing that Qalsody® (tofersen), a genetically targeted treatment for SOD1-ALS, has the potential not only to stabilize the disease but also help some people regain strength and function…” This is monumental to treatment options and a testament to the impact ALS fundraising has had on funding research! Let’s keep it going!!
I realize that there are many worthy charities out there but I hope that you will consider a donation to support me. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated and can be made online by clicking the DONATE button.
