As a mother, nothing prepares you for the day your child tells you, “I have cancer.”
On April 24, 2026, our family received the news that no family ever wants to hear. My beautiful daughter, Summer, was diagnosed with Stage I, Grade 2, Triple Positive (ER+, PR+, HER2+) Invasive Ductal Carcinoma a rare aggressive form of Breast Cancer.
In what felt like the blink of an eye, our lives became filled with surgeries, chemotherapy, targeted treatments, radiation, doctor’s appointments, and uncertainty. Along the way, there have even been unexpected setbacks that made an already difficult journey even more challenging. Yet through it all, I have watched my daughter face each obstacle with incredible courage, unwavering faith, and a determination that inspires everyone around her.
As her mom, I wanted to do something more than simply watch from the sidelines. That’s why I’m honored to captain Summer’s Rack Pack for the 11th Annual Combat Cancer Walk.
This year’s walk holds an even more special meaning for our family. Summer will celebrate her birthday on October 8, and just nine days later, on October 17, we’ll gather to celebrate something even greater—her life, her strength, and every milestone she’s fought so hard to reach. What better birthday gift could there be than being surrounded by family, friends, and a community united in hope?
Our team is walking to celebrate Summer’s courage, to honor every survivor, to remember those we’ve lost, and to support the countless individuals and families whose lives have been changed by cancer. We believe no one should have to fight this disease alone.
Whether you choose to walk beside us or make a donation, you are becoming part of something bigger than a single event. You are giving hope, showing love, and reminding every person battling cancer that they are never alone.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Summer, our family, and this incredible cause. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate life, create hope, and continue the fight against breast cancer.
After all…
Cancer Picked the Wrong Rack!
With love and gratitude,
