Join Us in the Fight Against Sarcoma – #TeamMEGcellence

Every summer, our team enters the Manasquan Summer Slam league with support from a sponsor—but this year, we’re doing things differently.

My brother Shaun has been on a mission to raise awareness and funds for Sarcoma research through the Sarcoma Foundation of America. His fiancée, Meg, was diagnosed with a rare fibromixoid sarcoma on the dura of her brain 10 years ago and has been courageously battling. Sarcoma makes up 1% of cancer in adults but there are a lot of loved ones that comprise that 1%. Last March Meg completed treatment and rang the bell towards healing. Over the last year, Shaun has been running half marathons in accordance and using the hashtag #TeamMEGcellence to spread awareness in an attempt to rally support.

In honor of Shaun’s efforts and Meg’s strength, our team has decided to pay our own entry fee this summer and dedicate our season to raising awareness and funds for Sarcoma research. We’re turning to our friends and the basketball community—one of the most passionate and supportive groups out there—to join us in this effort.

Basketball has given us so much over the years. Now, we’re hoping to use the game to give back and make a real difference.
