I’m thrilled to be participating in the Humane Society of West Michigan’s Humane Hustle this year! As someone who has always loved animals, working at HSWM for the past year and a half has truly been a dream come true. Every day, I get to see the incredible difference our community makes in the lives of animals in need—and that’s what inspires me to fundraise for this cause.

I’m running (or maybe briskly walking!) on behalf of my own two kitties, Bentley and his new brother Matches. Bentley came into my life as the sweetest, most affectionate reminder of why the work we do matters, and Matches joined the family to double the love (and the chaos). They remind me daily how every animal deserves a second chance, a safe home, and a family that loves them.

In my role at HSWM, I have the unique privilege of promoting adoptable animals through media every week. I get to share their stories, celebrate their adoptions, and witness firsthand how donations create real change—from lifesaving medical treatments to cozy blankets and nutritious food.
