When a child is placed in foster care, the child’s life becomes a maze of strangers, social workers, therapists, police, foster parents, judges, and more. CASA volunteers are a constant presence—sometimes the only constant presence—in a foster care child’s life.
Children with a CASA volunteer are more likely to find a safe, permanent home, and are:
- More likely to be adopted
- Half as likely to reenter foster care
- Substantially less likely to spend time in long-term foster care
