Information

The Pilgrim Center has been supporting families in Kansas City since the late 1990's.

Today, with a simple mission of strengthening our urban Kansas City community, the Pilgrim Center operates and maintains the public, nondenominational Pilgrim Chapel and provides free educational opportunities and free family-friendly community events that encourage sustainability, connection, and healthy habits.

We partner with the Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation Department to plant and maintain several wildlife habitat sites in Hyde Park, including the Pilgrim Labyrinth & Butterfly Garden, a pollinator support garden and labyrinth for walking meditation open year-round. Our volunteers receive valuable training about how to control invasive plant species, how to install and maintain native planting areas, how to support wildlife, and how to harvest and propagate seeds and plants.

Many of our events are held in Hyde Park, including our free movie nights and concerts, as well as our annual fundraising 5K on Thanksgiving Day, the Gillham Road GobbleTrot, now in its 14th year!

The Pilgrim Chapel provides a charming listening experience for guest speakers and intimate concerts in colder months, like our free annual Winter Solstice event.

Your gift will help us bring more flowers and butterflies, more music and dancing, and more laughing and cheering to Kansas City!

The Pilgrim Center is an inclusive organization where we welcome diversity and invite everyone to join us in offering healthy and productive activities for community involvement and sustainability.
