We welcome your donation to the IRIS Peace Day 5K and International Festival!

The United Nations declared September 21 the International Day of peace in 1981 after an unanimous resolution. The UN's General Assembly described the date as a day for, "commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples." IRIS works to promote peace in our everyday lives, but we also hold an event each year to highlight the International Day of Peace.

On Sunday, September 20, 2020, IRIS will host the 6th annual Peace Day 5K and International Festival (previously International Peace Walk) at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines. Your donations provide the community with an opportunity to learn about multiple cultures and promote the mission of peace here in Central Iowa!
