Providence is a not-for-profit faith-based health care system operating 51 hospitals, more than 1,100 non-acute facilities, and numerous assisted living facilities in the western half of the United States (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Montana, New Mexico, and Texas). The Providence St. Joseph Hospital in California is home to one of the top transplant programs in the nation.
