Pedal the Cause

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause again in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.  I will be biking 30 miles on September 21, 2025!

This event means so much to me now.  Right after the January 1, 2024 I noticed that I always seemed fatigued no matter the amount of sleep I was getting, and things seemed a bit out of the ordinary.  After a month of ignoring the problem, and a visit to my primary care doctor, I was immediately sent to a specialist to have more tests run.  I was diagnosed with testicular cancer on February 7th, 2024, completed my first round of chemotherapy on April, 30, 2024, and I am currently in an observation period hoping that there is not a reoccurrence.

I ride in memory of my aunt’s late husband Jay Huston taken from us in 2022 after a courageous battle with bladder cancer that unfortunately spread.

I ride and in honor of my mother Jackie Serena a breast cancer survivor, my aunt Michelle Armstrong also a breast cancer survivor, my wife’s uncle Ryan Bassler a testicular cancer survivor, my wife’s grandmother Patty Bassler a lymphoma survivor, my aunt Dorothy Serena who is currently battling lung cancer, and for the millions of other men, women, children, and their families who have been affected by cancer.
