Cancer doesn’t just affect one person—it touches entire families, friendships, and communities. Many of us know what it feels like to sit in a waiting room, to search for answers, or to try to stay strong for someone we love.
That’s why this cause means so much to us.
The Claudia Mayer / Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center is a place of real support, compassion, and hope. They walk alongside individuals and families facing cancer—not just medically, but emotionally and practically—offering counseling, support groups, stress management, patient navigation, and even services like oncology yoga, massage, and their “Hair with Care” salon for those experiencing hair loss.
In 2024 alone, the center supported 1,289 individuals and provided more than $217,000 in completely free services. Every single one of those services exists because of donations. The center is 100% philanthropically funded—meaning support from people like you makes all of this possible.
We created a team for this 5K walk/run to raise money in support of gynecologic cancers—a cause that is incredibly important to us. While this event highlights gynecologic cancers, the center provides care and resources to individuals and families facing all types of cancer.
Your donation helps ensure that no one has to navigate cancer alone. It helps provide comfort during some of the hardest moments and reminds people that they are supported, seen, and cared for.
If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing our page. Every contribution—no matter the size—truly makes a difference.
Thank you for being part of this with us. 💛
