Course maps for both the timed 5K Run/Walk and untimed 1-Mile Walk will be available soon. Both scenic routes wind through the beautiful Maryland Zoo exhibits.
Course Improvements for 2026
We listened! Based on feedback from last year's participant survey, we've made several enhancements for our second year at the Maryland Zoo:
Clearer and increase signage along separated routes for 5K and 1-Mile participants
Staggered start for the 5K with improved start line positioning
15-minute gap between race starts for enhanced safety
Stroller Policy
Strollers are welcome but for everyone's safety, participants with strollers should position themselves at the back of the start line for both events.
