About Beats for Life Foundation
Who We Are
It is our honor to announce the inaugural outreach season of the Beats for Life Foundation, created to give back to the community that once carried our family through its greatest need.
Ten years ago, our youngest daughter, Blair, was born with a congenital heart defect (CHD) called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Shortly after her first surgery, she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Stenosis, and it became clear that her only chance of survival was a heart transplant. Blair spent five and a half months in the hospital before a donor heart became available. We received the call on Valentine’s Day, and she received her transplant the following day - National Donor Day.
The Heartbeat of Our Organization
February—National Heart Month—holds a special place in our hearts. As we celebrate ten years since Blair’s transplant, our family is reminded that we could not have made it through that difficult time without thetremendous love, prayers, and generosity of our Durant and Bryan County community. Through the Beats for Life Foundation, we seek to honor that support by strengthening community connections and promoting awareness of heart health, congenital heart disease, and organ donation.
We look forward to working together to recognize National Heart Month and to continue building a community rooted in compassion, awareness, and hope.
