Event Description
AMCFF is proud to announce the first ever Running Con Ganas 5K, taking place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Los Angeles Mission College. This inspiring community run will bring together students, families, and neighbors to celebrate health, determination, and educational opportunity.
“Ganas” — the Spanish word for “desire, drive, and motivation” — reflects the spirit of this event. All fitness levels are welcome to participate in the 5K, which will weave through the scenic LA Mission College campus and surrounding areas.
Running With Purpose
The AMCFF “Running Con Ganas” 5K is more than just a race — it’s a movement to:
Promote health, wellness, and community pride
Encourage students and families to engage in active lifestyles
Raise funds to support the 2026 AMCFF Scholars, providing financial assistance and resources to deserving students
Runners will receive a medal and timed bib!

FAQ Section:
The race starts at 9, so you want to be there an hour before the race begins. You want ample time to pick up your bib and prep for the race.
Bib pickup will be in front of the LA Mission College Health Complex located at the 12890 Harding St Sylmar, CA. Bib pick up begins at 8am race morning.
Free parking is available behind the Kinesiology building of LA Mission College off Eldridge Avenue & Harding Street. There is also street parking along Eldridge Avenue but make sure to read street signs accordingly.
We encourage all participants to run or walk the 5K.
Yes, we highly encourage family to come and support our runners. Support can also be shown through donations here.
Yes, we love our canine friends. Please make sure to keep them close to you and on a leash. Please make sure to pick up after them and make sure they do not disturb our runners.
Yes, please bring a valid ID. For those under the age of 18 please bring your student ID. They are needed for bib pick up.
Pack lightly, make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Feel free to bring any snacks you may need, though there will be some provided for our runners.
Yes, snacks and beverages will be provided to our runners at each hydration station along the route.
There will be first aid stations throughout the race course.
Yes, we highly encourage everyone to stay for fun activities, giveaways, and awards after the race. Ceremonies begin at 10:30am.
Cleanup for the race begins at 11am.
