Event Description

Join us on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Palmer Lake Regional Recreation Area for the 7th Annual Colorado Run for the Fallen—a 6-hour untimed run/walk/ruck hosted by the Honor and Remember – Colorado Chapter. This moving tribute honors over 450 Colorado military service members who made the ultimate sacrifice since the start of the Global War on Terror.

Event Overview:

This is not a race—there are no chips, no clocks, and no pressure. Whether you move 1 mile or all 6 hours, your presence honors a fallen hero. Each mile is dedicated to an individual service member, with their name, rank, and date of loss read aloud, followed by a ceremonial salute.

“Every step we take, every name we speak, is a promise to never forget.” – George Lutz, Founder of Honor and Remember

All participants receive an event t-shirt. An aid station will be available with water, electrolytes, and snacks.

What to Expect:

Run, walk, or ruck at your own pace
Carry the name of a fallen service member
Hear each hero’s name read aloud at tribute miles
Join in a Final Mile of Honor
Open to all ages and fitness levels
Solo participants and teams welcome

Gold Star Families:

Gold Star families receive free registration. Please contact the race director for details.

Volunteers & Core Runners:

Volunteers are essential—check the volunteer tab to get involved.
Core Runners help carry memorial flags throughout the entire event and participate in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Please contact the race director if you are interested in serving as a Core Runner.

Proceeds support Honor and Remember’s mission, including the presentation of personalized Honor and Remember Flags to Gold Star families in Colorado.

Let’s unite in remembrance and gratitude—so no hero is ever forgotten.
